As we all know Google announced its newest Android OS at its I/O Developer conference held in San Francisco on Wednesday. The latest Android L version has got revamped notification system such as; advanced user interface, smart unlock feature and the latest battery saving mode. The newest Android L update will officially arrive later this year, the new version promises to boost app performance because of the new “ART Runtime”. Many people still don’t know that Android L isn’t essential to enable ART on devices.
If you remember, Google introduced ART back in 2013 with its Nexus 5 and Android KitKat OS update, which means you need to have KitKat in order to do this process. However, not all Android KitKat devices support ART at the moment. Only several phone including with HTC One M8, Samsung G S5, Motorola Moto X, Moto G, LG G2, Nexus 7 and nexus 5 (probably few more) devices are able to run ART on.
Now, let’s get started with the process. All you have to do is to, go to “Settings” menu, select About Phone and tap on build number seven times. This method will enable Developer options, which will give you way to get more advanced settings/options.
Head to Developer options, scroll down a bit and select Runtime, there choose ART. You’ll need to reboot your device, after rebooting, your Cellphone will start to optimize apps. The process would take few minutes, but you’ll notice a significant performance boost afterward. Only few apps may be incompatible with the ART runtime, but it doesn’t matter at all, your device will start performing at top speed.
